The American College of Osteopathic Surgeons is seeking a group of qualified members to serve as Curators for ACOS on Cureus, our open-access publishing platform.
Curators play an important role in maintaining the quality and relevance of published work by reviewing submitted manuscripts to ensure:
- Formatting is appropriate
- Content is relevant to surgical practice
- Grammar and clarity meet publication standards
- References appropriately support the content
- Constructive recommendations are provided to authors for improvement
Mandatory Qualifications:
- Active ACOS membership
- Active board certification
Preferred Qualifications:
- Experience with the Cureus platform
- Publication(s) within the last three years
- Preference may be given to those with a current academic appointment (e.g., clinical or academic rank of assistant, associate, or full professor).
Expectations:
- Review the brief online orientation and video materials provided by Cureus
- Attend a short online training session
- Complete assigned article reviews within 7 days of assignment, or notify editorial staff within 48 hours if unable to complete a review
