Guy D. Beaumont, Jr., FACOS Award of Academic Excellence

The Guy D. Beaumont, Jr., FACOS Award of Academic Excellence, established in 2012 by the Board of Governors, honors individuals who have demonstrated exceptional organizational leadership and a lasting impact on the advancement of osteopathic surgical education. Named for Guy D. Beaumont, Jr., FACOS—a longtime executive director of the College and the award’s first recipient—this distinction is presented periodically to those who have significantly enhanced the quality of education within AOA/ACOS-accredited surgical training programs and/or continuing medical education initiatives.

Award Qualifications

  • Nominee need not be an ACOS Member
  • Nominations must be submitted with curriculum vitae
  • Nominations must be received at the ACOS office by February 1.

Required Documents

  • Nominee’s curriculum vitae
  • Letter of Nomination outlining the nominees contribution to the advancement of osteopathic surgical education or demonstrated enhancement of the quality of education within AOA/ACOS-accredited surgical training programs and/or continuing medical education initiatives.

Award Notification

Nominations for this award are open following the Annual Clinical Assembly through February 1st. Recipients will be notified in April.
