AWARDS
Orel F. Martin Award and Medal
The Orel F. Martin Award and Medal, established in 1954 by the Board of Governors, honors ACOS members who have made outstanding contributions to the College and the osteopathic profession. First presented to Orel F. Martin in recognition of his distinguished service, this award reflects a legacy of dedication, leadership, and lasting impact within the surgical community. Bestowed periodically, it recognizes individuals whose commitment has helped advance the mission and values of the College. The medal is conferred during the Ceremonial Conclave at the Annual Clinical Assembly.

Award Qualifications
- Nominee must be, or if retired from surgical practice must have been, certified by the AOA or ABMS recognized certifying board (Board of Governors September 1998)
- Nominee must be an ACOS member who has made outstanding contributions to the College or to the osteopathic profession
- Nominations must be submitted with a curriculum vitae

- Letter of Nomination outlining the nominee’s outstanding contributions to the College and the osteopathic profession.
Award Notification
Nominations for this award are open following the Annual Clinical Assembly through February 1st.
Recipients will be notified in April.
