ACOS Humanitarian Award
The Humanitarian Award, established in 1998, honors ACOS Fellows who demonstrate exceptional commitment to service through unselfish participation in humanitarian efforts. This distinguished recognition celebrates surgeons who extend their impact beyond clinical practice, contributing meaningful service at the community, state, national, or international level. Whether through volunteerism, outreach, or global initiatives, recipients exemplify compassion, leadership, and a dedication to improving the well-being of others.

Award Qualifications
- Nominee must be an ACOS member who has unselfishly participated in humanitarian activities
- Nominee for this award must be an ACOS Fellow
- Nominee must be nominated by at least two ACOS members
- Nominations must be submitted with a curriculum vitae
- Nominations must be received at the ACOS office by February 1.
Required Documents
- Nominee’s curriculum vitae
- Letter of Nomination outlining the nominee’s commitment to service through participation in humanitarian efforts at the community, state, national, or international level.
Award Notification
Nominations for this award are open following the Annual Clinical Assembly through February 1st. Recipients will be notified in April.
