Shape the Future of Osteopathic Surgical Scholarship

The American College of Osteopathic Surgeons is seeking a group of qualified members to serve as Curators for ACOS on Cureus, our open-access publishing platform.

 Curators play an important role in maintaining the quality and relevance of published work by reviewing submitted manuscripts to ensure:

  • Formatting is appropriate
  • Content is relevant to surgical practice
  • Grammar and clarity meet publication standards
  • References appropriately support the content
  • Constructive recommendations are provided to authors for improvement

Mandatory Qualifications:

  • Active ACOS membership
  • Active board certification

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Experience with the Cureus platform
  • Publication(s) within the last three years
  • Preference may be given to those with a current academic appointment (e.g., clinical or academic rank of assistant, associate, or full professor).

Expectations:

  • Review the brief online orientation and video materials provided by Cureus
  • Attend a short online training session
  • Complete assigned article reviews within 7 days of assignment, or notify editorial staff within 48 hours if unable to complete a review
